Dr. Stephanie Dotchin
Current President
The President or delegate presides at all meetings of the Society and of its Board of Directors. The President is an ex-officio member of all committees and sees that all orders and resolutions are carried into effect.
DR. PATRICK MITCHELL
PRESIDENT ELECT
The President Elect assists the President and may act as the President's delegate in certain circumstances. In the event of the office of the President becoming vacant, the President Elect will assume all the duties of the President for the unfinished term.


DR. JOHN HUANG
PAST PRESIDENT
The Past President is a Member of the Board of Directors for two years following the presidency's end. The Past President acts as the President's delegate in the absence of the President or the President Elect.
Dr. Jennifer Hodges
Secretary
The Secretary keeps a list of the Members of the Society, notifies members of all Society meetings, prepares and keeps custody of minutes of all meetings, has charge of Society documents, and is responsible for correspondence of the Society.


Dr. Michael Ashenhurst
Treasurer
The Treasurer receives and takes charge of all monies belonging to the Society, pays all bills or monies, makes an annual report of finances, and when directed by the Board of Directors delivers over to the Board all monies and securities owned by the Society.
Dr. Vivian Hill
The Canadian Ophthalmological Society Representative
The Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) Representative is responsible for providing information to the COS and reporting back to the Board on any current COS policy or information relevant to the Association.


Dr. Chris Rudnisky
The Fees Committee Chair
The Fees Committee Chair is responsible for ensuring knowledge of and compliance with the Alberta Medical Association's fee schedule. They may report on certain billing trends that occur and advise Members of the Society on appropriate billing strategies.
Dr. Adam Muzychuk
The Scientific Meeting Chair
The Scientific Meeting Chair is responsible for selecting the speakers for the Scientific Meeting in collaboration with the Board of Directors. They are also involved in judging resident research projects and presentations during said Scientific Meeting.


Dr. Karim Damji
University of Alberta Chair
The University of Alberta Department of Ophthalmology Representative Chair is responsible for informing the Board of Directors of the ongoing development of policies and practice at the University of Alberta Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Andrew Crichton
University of Calgary Chair
The University of Calgary Department of Ophthalmology Representative Chair is responsible for informing the Board of Directors of the ongoing development of policies and practice at the University of Calgary Department of Ophthalmology.



Dr. Kaisra Esmail & DR. CHRIS HANSON
Member at Large
The Members-at-Large are elected by simple majority vote on nominations at the Annual General Meeting of the Society. Members-at-Large each serve one two-year term and fulfill leadership roles on special subcommittees.
